Netflix is preparing for a significant expansion in the Dutch market with new films and series set to debut in 2025. This announcement was made at the Next on Netflix event in Amsterdam, hosted by Elise Schaap. Among the highlights is Netflix's first Dutch reality series featuring Yolanthe Cabau, who will share insights into her life as she begins anew in Los Angeles with her son Xess Xava. The series, produced by NewBe, explores her past and present challenges.
Yolanthe Cabau expressed her intentions: "I made a conscious decision to step out of the spotlight for a while to focus on myself and Xess. The past few years have been challenging, but I can confidently say that I am more empowered than ever."
Another project announced is a series adaptation of Saskia Noort's bestselling novel "The Dinner Club," with Dorien Goertzen writing the screenplay. Saskia Noort stated, "I am incredibly proud that my story is getting a new life on Netflix."
The female cast of "Haantjes" has also been revealed, featuring Jennifer Hoffman, Jelka van Houten, Fockeline Ouwerkerk, Eva Laurenssen, and Frouke Verheijde. This series follows a group of friends navigating modern life's challenges.
Netflix also unveiled the title of Bobby Boerman’s new film about an Apple Store hostage situation: "iHostage." Directed by Bobby Boermans and written by Simon de Waal, it stars Everon Jackson Hooi among others.
Fans of "High Tides" can look forward to its second season on January 31, 2025. Additionally, "Amsterdam Empire," starring Famke Janssen and Jacob Derwig, will explore crime drama within Amsterdam's cannabis scene.
