The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has announced that Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines, will be a keynote speaker at CES 2025. The event will take place at Sphere, a venue known for its innovative approach to live experiences. This occasion marks the first time a CES keynote will be hosted at this location.
Bastian expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity: “Technology is a powerful tool, but it’s people that make true innovation possible,” he said. “We’re on the brink of a new era, and I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate how the Delta team will leverage cutting-edge advancements to propel our next century of flight.”
This appearance follows Delta's previous engagements at CES in 2020 and 2023. During those events, Delta was noted for being the first airline to deliver keynote remarks and for announcing complimentary onboard Wi-Fi for SkyMiles Members.
Gary Shapiro, CEO of CTA, commented on Delta's participation: “After celebrating CTA’s centennial year, we recognize what a pivotal time this can be for an organization and we are thrilled Delta is sharing part of this special moment with us at CES.” He added, “We know Delta has the vision to continue disrupting how we travel by leaning into technology and I can’t wait to see how they bring that to life at Sphere. The sky is the limit.”
Delta plans to utilize Sphere's advanced technologies during their presentation. These include its exterior LED screen known as the "Exosphere," an interior display with high-resolution capabilities, and Sphere Immersive Sound powered by HOLOPLOT.
Jennifer Koester, President and COO of Sphere, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “Sphere is a powerful platform for brands to connect with key audiences, leveraging next-generation technologies to boldly deliver a one-of-a-kind experience and amplify their message,” she stated.
To accommodate attendees traveling from around the world, Delta will increase flights in and out of Las Vegas during CES. Additionally, expedited badge pickup will be available for SkyMiles Members arriving at Harry Reid International Airport between January 5-7.
The keynote is scheduled for January 7 at 5 p.m. PT and requires separate ticket access alongside CES credentials. More information about registration and event details can be found on CES.tech.
