Littlejohn's upcoming visit highlights U.S.-South Africa environmental collaboration

Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, Jennifer R. Littlejohn, is set to visit Cape Town, South Africa from November 4 to 8, 2024. The purpose of her visit is to participate in the United for Wildlife Global Summit. This initiative was established by Prince William and The Royal Foundation of the United Kingdom with the aim of protecting endangered species from illegal wildlife trade.

In addition to attending the summit, Littlejohn will be present at the Earthshot Prize event, which recognizes significant contributions in environmentalism on a global scale.

Throughout her stay in South Africa, Acting Assistant Secretary Littlejohn plans to engage with government officials and regional partners. These meetings are intended to further U.S. policy priorities concerning water security, wildlife trafficking, Atlantic cooperation, space affairs, as well as nature and marine conservation.
