The United States has delivered additional equipment to support the Haitian National Police (HNP) and the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti. The Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) facilitated this delivery from October 28 to November 3.
Among the equipment sent were Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), which have doubled the MSS fleet, enhancing their mobility. The INL also provided other law enforcement tools to assist MSS forces working alongside the HNP in combating dangerous gangs in Haiti.
"This assistance underscores our ongoing commitment to addressing the urgent security and humanitarian needs in Haiti," stated a representative from the Department of State. They emphasized that a well-equipped MSS is crucial for strengthening the anti-gang efforts of the HNP.
The United States continues its commitment to aiding the Haitian people in achieving stability, aiming for a Haitian-led political solution through free and fair elections.
