TechNet, a national bipartisan network of CEOs and senior executives in the innovation economy, has called on Congress to prioritize key artificial intelligence (AI) legislation before the conclusion of the 118th Congress.
Linda Moore, TechNet President and CEO, emphasized the urgency of maintaining America's leadership in AI innovation and safety. "It’s vitally important that America continues to lead the world in AI innovation and safety," she stated.
Moore highlighted the fast pace of AI development and increasing global competition as reasons for immediate legislative action. She said, "Given the rapid pace of AI development and global competition, it’s critical that Congress act now to foster an environment that fuels innovation, promotes science-based decisions, and reduces unnecessary regulatory burdens so U.S. companies can thrive."
