Jalux Americas, Inc., operating as J.sweets, has announced a recall of 32 units of L’espoir Brand L’espoir cookies and 28 units of L’espoir Brand Drycapot cookies. The recall is due to the presence of undeclared allergens: milk in the L’espoir cookies and tree nuts (almond and macadamia nuts) in the Drycapot cookies. These products were distributed in California, Illinois, and Washington and sold exclusively at J.sweets stores located in Torrance, CA; San Jose, CA; Arlington Heights, IL; and Lynnwood, WA.
The affected batches of L’espoir were available for purchase between May 26 – June 30, 2025, while the Drycapot cookies were sold from May 31 – June 30, 2025. No online sales occurred for these items.
Details for identifying the recalled products are as follows:
- L’espoir: packaged in a gold plastic bag containing five cookies per bag with code L4FN and a best before date of September 26, 2025. Bar code number is 4 942737 200147.
- Drycapot: also packaged in a gold plastic bag with five cookies per bag bearing code D4FN and best before date September 26, 2025. Bar code number is 4 942737 210191.
No illnesses have been reported so far related to these products. The issue was identified during an inventory audit which revealed that packaging did not disclose the presence of allergens.
This recall is being conducted with the awareness of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Consumers who purchased these specific batches are advised to return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.
