Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has nominated several Navy captains for promotion to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). These nominations include:
Navy Capt. Erin E. O. Acosta, currently chief of staff at the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command in Mississippi; Navy Capt. Walter H. Allman III, commandant at the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland; and Navy Capt. Andrew M. Biehn, director of Development and Integration at the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems in Washington, D.C.
Additional nominees are Navy Capt. Wesley P. Bringham, strategic integration group director for the vice chief of naval operations at the Pentagon; Navy Capt. Kertreck V. Brooks, transformation integration branch head in Washington, D.C.; and Navy Capt. Richard G. Burgess, commanding officer of USS Gerald R. Ford in Virginia.
The list continues with Navy Captains Daryle D. Cardone and Cameron R. Chen serving as branch heads within various offices at the Pentagon; Jereal E. Dorsey as special assistant for public affairs to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Matthew J. Duffy as director within Fiscal Management and Budget at the Secretary of the Navy's office; Reginald S. Ewing III as fleet surgeon with U.S Fleet Forces Command; Damian D Flatt working as assistant judge advocate general for operations and management; John P Friedmann serving as executive assistant to Director Naval Reactors.
