On November 19, 2024, U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken extended congratulations to Monaco on its National Day, known as La Fête du Prince. In his statement, Blinken highlighted the long-standing partnership between the United States and Monaco, which has spanned 168 years.
"The United States and Monaco have enjoyed a strong and enduring partnership for 168 years," said Blinken. He noted that both nations have collaborated on upholding human rights, promoting liberty, and addressing global challenges such as climate change.
Blinken also praised H.S.H. Prince Albert II for his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. "I commend H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development, which continues to inspire and drive international efforts," he stated.
Expressing optimism about future collaboration, Blinken emphasized shared values: "As we celebrate this special day, I am confident our collaboration will grow even stronger – grounded in our shared values and commitment to democracy, fundamental human rights, and the rule of law – as we work together to create a better world for our citizens and future generations."
He concluded with well wishes for the people of Monaco: "Warmest wishes to the people of Monaco for a joyous, peaceful, and prosperous year ahead."
