The Heritage Foundation has extended its congratulations to Chris Wright, the founder, CEO, and chairman of Liberty Energy, on his appointment as Secretary of Energy in President-elect Donald Trump's administration. Wright will also serve on the newly established Council of National Energy.
Dr. Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, expressed support for Wright's appointment by stating: "Chris Wright is a trailblazer in the fight for American energy dominance. His leadership in launching commercial shale gas production and advancing hydraulic fracturing technology has revolutionized the energy industry."
Roberts further emphasized that with Wright leading the Department of Energy, "President Trump’s America First energy policies will be executed to their fullest potential," aiming to surpass achievements from Trump's previous term.
Criticizing the current administration's approach to energy policy, Roberts said: "Under the Biden-Harris administration, America’s robust energy resources have been stifled by reckless regulations that have driven up electricity and transportation costs." He believes these policies have negatively impacted low-income families, small businesses, and farmers.
In his new role as Secretary of Energy, Wright is expected to reverse what are described as "anti-American energy policies" and to enhance fossil fuel and nuclear capabilities. This initiative aims to reduce inflation and broaden energy and transportation options. Dr. Roberts concluded by affirming The Heritage Foundation's readiness to collaborate with Wright and the Department of Energy to restore American energy dominance.
