Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has nominated several Navy officers for promotion to the grade of rear admiral.
Among those nominated is Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Christopher D. Alexander, who is currently serving as commander of Carrier Strike Group Nine in San Diego, California.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Bradley J. Andros has also been nominated for promotion. He is presently the commander of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Another nominee, Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Sean R. Bailey, serves as commander of Carrier Strike Group Eight in Norfolk, Virginia.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Brian H. Bennett is up for promotion while he serves as deputy director of Special Operations and Counter Terrorism at the Joint Staff in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
The list continues with Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Adan G. Cruz, who commands Carrier Strike Group Three in Bremerton, Washington.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John E. Dougherty IV has been nominated while he serves as commander of Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division and chief engineer at Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland.
Other nominees include Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Thomas M. Henderschedt from the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C., and Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Christopher A. Kijek from the Learning to Action Board at the Pentagon.
Additional nominations include Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Max G. McCoy Jr., currently commanding Carrier Strike Group Four; Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Thomas P. Moninger from Carrier Strike Group Twelve; and Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Martin J. Muckian from Submarine Group Two—all based in Norfolk, Virginia.
Further nominations were made for Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Gregory D. Newkirk stationed in Yokosuka, Japan; Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Jonathan E. Rucker from Washington Navy Yard; and Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Mark A. Schafer from U.S Southern Command in Doral, Florida.
Rounding out the list are nominations for Navy Rear Adm.( lower half ) Nicholas R.Tilbrook from Silverdale ,Washington ;Navy RearAdm.( lowerhalf ) Douglas L.Williamsfrom Fort Belvoir ,Virginia ;NavyRearAdm.( lowerhalf ) RobertE.Wirthfrom Kings Bay ,Georgia ;and finally,NavyRearAdm.( lowerhalf ) MichaelS.Wosjefrom San Diego ,California .
