The Department of Defense has announced the recipients of the 2024 Defense Acquisition Awards. Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, William A. LaPlante, shared the news about the awards that honor achievements in acquisition, aligning with the National Defense Strategy and supporting the Secretary of Defense's priorities.
These awards will be presented on December 11, 2024, at a ceremony at the Howell Auditorium in Scott Hall at Defense Acquisition University. The awards recognize both individual and team accomplishments across 23 categories.
The defense acquisition workforce includes nearly 163,000 civilian and military professionals from all branches of the military as well as defense agencies. Their contributions are crucial to maintaining advantages for warfighters as the Department of Defense adapts to changing circumstances.
"Wars are won and lost in program offices, often years before the shooting starts," said Dr. LaPlante. "Our acquisition professionals contribute directly to our ability to deter aggression, and I continue to be impressed by all they do on a daily basis. Congratulations to this year's winners and their tremendous body of work delivering capability to our warfighters, allies, and partners at speed and scale."

- Software Innovation Team Award went to Next Generation Air Dominance Software Factory from U.S. Air Force.
- Flexibility in Acquisition Team Awards were given to teams like Product Manager Robotic Combat Vehicle from U.S. Army.
- Workforce Development Innovation Awards recognized NAVSUP WSS N972 Department Support Division from U.S. Navy among others.
- David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Awards included Integrated Fires Mission Command Project Office from U.S. Army.
