The United States and India have concluded their latest East Asia consultations, marking another step in the ongoing partnership between the two countries. The discussions took place on December 4 and were led by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, and India's Joint Secretary for East Asia Gourangalal Das.
The consultations aimed to enhance cooperation in the East Asia region. A significant part of the dialogue focused on continued collaboration between the State Department’s Office of China Coordination (CH) and India’s Centre for Contemporary China Studies (CCCS). This cooperation is structured under an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
"The United States values its strategic partnership with India," stated officials involved in the talks, highlighting a shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity in East Asia.
