The U.S. Department of Labor is set to conduct its final 2024 meeting of the Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, known as the ERISA Advisory Council, on December 12-13. The event will take place at the department’s headquarters in Washington and will be accessible to the public both online and via teleconference.
The council's agenda includes presenting observations and recommendations to the Secretary of Labor based on two study topics from 2024: “Making Welfare Plan Claims and Appeals Procedures More Accessible to Participants” and “Lifetime Income and Qualified Defined Investment Alternatives.”
The ERISA Advisory Council, established under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, provides advice to the Secretary of Labor concerning functions under ERISA.
