U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk has sentenced Johnny O. Morrow to 152 months in prison for selling methamphetamine. The sentence was delivered on Friday in Cape Girardeau.

In February 2023, officers from the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force received information regarding Morrow's involvement in methamphetamine sales. Subsequently, they conducted two controlled purchases totaling 22 grams of meth at Morrow's residence in Fisk, Missouri, located in Butler County.

Upon executing a court-approved search warrant at his home, Morrow attempted to flee but was apprehended on site. During the search, an officer reported hearing Morrow make threats against those who informed authorities about his activities.

The search uncovered a pill bottle containing eight bags of meth intended for delivery, totaling approximately 31.6 grams. Additionally, another pill bottle with around 64.78 grams of meth and a bag with about 52.97 grams of meth were found concealed in a jacket. After being read his Miranda rights, Morrow admitted ownership of all the drugs.

Morrow, aged 54 and residing in Steele, Missouri, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in June at the U.S. District Court in Cape Girardeau.

The investigation was conducted by the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force and the Butler County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Timothy Willis and Christopher Shelton led the prosecution.
