A Fort Madison resident, Marty Feinberg, has entered a guilty plea to four counts of failing to file income tax returns. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa.

Court documents reveal that Feinberg, aged 58, owned and operated a scrap metal business in Fort Madison. Despite receiving gross income significantly exceeding the IRS's filing requirements, he did not file federal income tax returns for the years 2018 through 2021 within the legally required timeframe.

Feinberg is set to be sentenced on March 10, 2025. He faces a possible sentence of up to one year in prison for each count. The final sentence will be determined by a federal judge who will consider the United States sentencing guidelines along with other statutory factors.

The case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service—Criminal Investigation.
