Gloversville man receives decade-long sentence for drug trafficking

Lamont McWhite, a 51-year-old resident of Gloversville, New York, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in drug trafficking. The sentence was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Field Division.

McWhite had previously pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, and fentanyl. In his plea agreement, he admitted to distributing cocaine on four occasions between June and August 2022. On December 14, 2022, he was found in possession of approximately 292 grams of methamphetamine, 506 grams of cocaine, 49 grams of cocaine base, and 37 grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.

Senior United States District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby also imposed a five-year term of supervised release following McWhite's imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the DEA and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashlyn Miranda.
