Hugo man pleads guilty to child exploitation charges

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Steven Mark McAnally, a 65-year-old resident of Hugo, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to possessing material related to the sexual exploitation of minors. The indictment specified that in July 2023, McAnally knowingly had visual depictions from the internet showing minors involved in sexually explicit activities, which he accessed with intent to view.

The investigation was conducted by the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted McAnally's plea and requested a presentence investigation report. McAnally is currently in custody under the United States Marshals Service as he awaits sentencing.
