Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning has called on Congress to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government. In a statement released today, Fanning expressed disappointment with Congress's reliance on a continuing resolution for the second time this fiscal year.
"The Aerospace Industries Association is disappointed that Congress is falling back on a continuing resolution to keep the government up and running for the second time this fiscal year," said Fanning. He highlighted that such resolutions hinder substantial progress and delay the initiation of significant new programs.
Despite these concerns, Fanning emphasized that a government shutdown would be more detrimental. "However, we maintain that a government shutdown is far worse, so we encourage Congress to support this temporary funding bill and to keep their noses to the grindstone to fully fund the government as soon as possible," he stated.
The AIA's stance underscores the need for stable and consistent funding to ensure effective governance and progress in aerospace initiatives.
