A Sioux City man has been sentenced to 106 months in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses. Rodney Lamard Hall, II, aged 31, was found with pills containing about 37 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and a loaded nine-millimeter pistol with an extended magazine. At the time of the offense, Hall was on probation for a previous charge involving a firearm and marijuana in April 2023 from the Iowa District Court for Woodbury County.
Following his imprisonment, Hall will undergo a four-year supervised release period. The federal system does not offer parole.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The case was investigated by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
This sentencing is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement and communities. The initiative emphasizes building trust within communities, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and evaluating outcomes.
