A Council Bluffs man, Dennis Earl Page, Jr., 56, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing follows an incident in December 2023 when law enforcement identified Page as the driver of a truck involved in a collision with a parked vehicle. A subsequent search revealed approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, 32 grams of marijuana, a loaded pistol, ammunition, and cash.

Page had previous convictions for methamphetamine delivery charges in January and March 2018 in the Iowa District Court for Pottawattamie County and was discharged from state parole in August 2022. Following his imprisonment term, he will serve an eight-year supervised release period. It is noted that there is no parole available within the federal system.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation was conducted by the Council Bluffs Police Department and Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. On May 26, 2021, a strategy was launched to enhance PSN's effectiveness by focusing on community trust, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
