U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery | U.S. Department of Justice
Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, has announced that Nicolas Brown, also known as "Breezy," aged 28 from New York, has pleaded guilty to child exploitation offenses. The plea was entered in Bridgeport federal court.
Court documents reveal that in March 2024, Brown orchestrated Uber rides to transport one to three teenage girls from a state-run group home in Connecticut. Two of these girls were minors. They were taken to various locations including hotels and shopping malls in Connecticut where Brown engaged in sexual activities with one minor. On another occasion, he arranged for the minors to meet him at the Bridgeport train station. Together they traveled to Manhattan and then to a hotel in South Hackensack, New Jersey.
Brown was arrested on March 20, 2024, at a hotel in Danbury on state charges. An iPhone seized during his arrest contained videos depicting child sex abuse, including footage he recorded himself with a minor.
He pleaded guilty to producing child pornography which mandates a minimum sentence of 15 years and can extend up to 30 years. Additionally, he admitted guilt for possessing and accessing child pornography with intent to view it; this offense carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment.
Since his arrest, Brown has remained detained and is set for sentencing on March 18 in Hartford.
The investigation involves the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), West Hartford Police Department, Danbury Police Department, and received assistance from the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Lembo is prosecuting the case.
U.S. Attorney Avery expressed gratitude towards the State’s Attorney’s Office for the Judicial District of Danbury for their cooperation throughout this process.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood by the U.S. Department of Justice which focuses on protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse. More information about this initiative can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
