Patrick Malloy, a 34-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for possession of child pornography. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. In addition to the prison term, Malloy has been ordered to pay $48,000 in restitution and will be required to register as a sex offender.

The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig R. Gestring, who reported that authorities executed a search warrant at Malloy's residence on June 24, 2023. During the search, several electronic devices were seized, revealing approximately 28,000 images of child pornography. The investigation leading to Malloy's sentencing was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. This task force operates under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
