U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Justin Brooks, a 35-year-old resident of Jamestown, New York, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison. Brooks was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti provided details on the case, noting that on February 8, 2021, Jamestown Police officers responded to Brooks' residence on Bush Street following a report of a possible assault and began investigating a burglary/assault incident. During the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at Brooks' home and discovered suspected marijuana, $6,500 in cash, scales, packaging materials, a sword, and approximately 357 grams of methamphetamine.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at identifying and dismantling high-level criminal organizations posing threats to the United States through a prosecutor-led and intelligence-driven approach involving multiple agencies.

The investigation leading to Brooks' sentencing was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III from the New York Field Division and the Jamestown Police Department led by Chief Timothy Jackson.
