A Jamestown resident, Timothy Snyder, has been sentenced to 130 months in prison for his involvement in a drug conspiracy. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross confirmed the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. Snyder was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, over 500 grams of methamphetamine and more than 100 grams of heroin.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti outlined Snyder's role as a manager and supervisor within Rocco Beardsley's drug trafficking organization. Snyder was responsible for selling, storing, and packaging drugs, maintaining drug ledgers, collecting money, and coordinating with co-conspirators to distribute methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl.
In May 2019, Snyder and his wife were stopped by the Jamestown Police Department during which $8,400 in cash was seized from their vehicle. The money was identified as proceeds intended for Rocco Beardsley.
Beardsley has already been convicted and is awaiting sentencing.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations in the United States through a collaborative approach involving multiple agencies. More details about OCDETF can be found on their official website.
The investigation leading to Snyder's sentencing involved the Jamestown Police Department under Chief Timothy Jackson's direction, the Drug Enforcement Administration led by Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarantino III of the New York Field Division, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office directed by Sheriff James Quattrone.
