A Burlington man has been sentenced to 230 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. David Lee Davis, Jr., aged 38, was found guilty of distributing approximately two pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer in October 2022. At the time of the offense, Davis was already under federal supervised release due to a previous conviction in 2012 for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm related to drug trafficking.

As a result of his actions, Davis's term of supervised release was revoked, leading to an additional sentence of 51 months that will run consecutively with his 230-month sentence. Upon completing his prison term, Davis will be required to serve a five-year term of supervised release. The federal system does not offer parole.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation involved multiple agencies including the Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Davenport Police Department, Scott County Special Operations Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
