Steven William Burden, a 46-year-old resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, has pled guilty to a charge of being a felon in possession of an explosive. This announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
According to the indictment, Burden was found in possession of thirty-one semi-gelatin dynamite sticks on November 16, 2020. This occurred after he had been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison.
The case was investigated by several agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Tulsa Police Department.
The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Following this acceptance, Judge Robertson ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed.
