A man from London, Kentucky, Kenneth Dodd, 33, has been sentenced to 76 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Robert Wier handed down the sentence for methamphetamine distribution and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Dodd's plea agreement, law enforcement identified him as a source of methamphetamine supply in Laurel County on September 14, 2023. Two confidential informants were used to make controlled purchases from Dodd. During one transaction, he also sold a firearm that was later found to be stolen.

Dodd, being a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing firearms. He had previously pleaded guilty in 2020 to making materially false statements to a federal agent and cyberstalking.

Under federal law, Dodd is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. After his release, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for three years.

The sentencing was announced by Carlton S. Shier IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Shawn Morrow, Special Agent in Charge at ATF's Louisville Field Division; Chief Jerry Hollon of the London Police Department; and Sheriff John Root of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation involved the ATF, London Police Department, and Laurel County Sheriff's Office as part of the Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force.
