U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam | U.S. Department of Justice

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced charges against Craig Coins, Jr., 30, and Aubreanna Odendahl, 26, both from Mississippi. They face allegations of conspiracy, sex trafficking of a minor, transportation of a minor for sexual activities, and production of child pornography.

United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated that the indictment claims the minor was transported from Mississippi to Tioga County, Pennsylvania in April. The alleged criminal activities occurred between March and May 2023 in Tioga County and other locations.

The investigation involved the Wellsboro Police Department, Mississippi Capitol Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Alisan V. Martin is handling the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program aims to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children while rescuing victims through federal, state, and local collaboration. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc.

If convicted under federal law, defendants could face up to life imprisonment along with supervised release post-imprisonment and fines. Sentences are determined by judges based on federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.

It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations; all charged individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
