Anthony William Glandt, a 45-year-old resident of Casper, Wyoming, has been sentenced to eight months in prison followed by two years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to court documents, on November 17, 2023, law enforcement responded to Glandt's residence due to a possible domestic disturbance and found him in possession of three firearms. As a previously convicted felon, Glandt is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was indicted on July 18 and sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on December 20 in Casper. The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives along with the Casper Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paige Hammer prosecuted the case.

In another case, Hector Valencia-Cuevas, a 33-year-old from Mexico, was sentenced to time served plus up to ten days for deportation proceedings with one year unsupervised release to follow for illegal reentry into the United States. Valencia-Cuevas was arrested on October 4 in Rock Springs, Wyoming for delivery or possession with intent to deliver narcotics. He claimed Mexican citizenship and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents determined he had been removed from the U.S. three times without applying for permission to reenter; his last removal was on June 24, 2018. ICE investigated the crime and Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook prosecuted the case. U.S. District Court Judge Kelly Rankin imposed the sentence on January 3 in Cheyenne.

The United States Attorney’s Office represents the federal government in litigation involving the United States within Wyoming's district courts, including criminal prosecutions for federal law violations and civil lawsuits involving the government.
