Today, Congressman Tom Cole from Oklahoma's 4th District was sworn in for the 119th Congress. He will continue his role as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. Following the ceremony, Cole issued a statement reflecting on his goals and vision for the new congressional term.
Chairman Tom Cole stated, “‘It’s morning again in America,’ as Reagan once said. With that same spirit of optimism, the American people gave us a mandate of change, and we will move into a new Congress where our America First commitment will help us build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation. I’m honored to continue working beside my colleagues, leadership, and appropriators in this pursuit as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee."
Cole emphasized the importance of providing a strong fiscal framework: “Now, more than ever, it’s critical for us to provide a strong fiscal framework. Republicans are united behind effective governance, safeguarding hard-earned tax dollars, and implementing solutions that unlock our nation’s full potential. As I have been, I’m fully devoted to strong conservative principles as we work to fulfill our Article I duties."
He also expressed optimism about addressing future challenges: “By concentrating on the challenges and opportunities ahead of us, I see progress that will herald us into the golden years of America. One where stagnation will be replaced by growth, submissive governance will be transformed into bold leadership, and the dreams of everyday Americans will once again feel within reach."
Cole concluded by expressing his eagerness to collaborate with President Trump and Republican leaders: “I look forward to working with President Trump and Republican leadership to deliver on the promises resoundingly demanded from people across the country.”
