On January 3, the House of Representatives voted to renew the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party for the 119th Congress. The decision was announced by Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL).

In a joint statement, Moolenaar and Krishnamoorthi expressed their support for the committee's renewal. "We welcome the Select Committee’s renewal for the 119th Congress," they stated. They emphasized that "the Chinese Communist Party represents an unprecedented challenge to our economy, our national security, and our values," highlighting their commitment to addressing these challenges with urgency.

The statement also acknowledged Speaker Johnson and Leader Jeffries for their ongoing support. Moolenaar and Krishnamoorthi expressed their anticipation of working with colleagues and various administrations to ensure national protection.
