A Beaumont man has been sentenced to 265 months in federal prison for drug trafficking offenses in the Eastern District of Texas, as announced by U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. Francisco Manuel Magdaleno, aged 41, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Magdaleno's conviction stems from his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy operating from February 2019 through May 2022. The operation transported methamphetamine from Michoacán, Mexico, through Beaumont, Texas, and distributed it across various regions in the United States. The conspiracy involved more than 20 known co-conspirators associated with the Magdaleno drug trafficking organization.

Court proceedings revealed that Magdaleno played a significant role in procuring over ten thousand grams of methamphetamine for distribution throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Trial evidence also indicated his involvement as a multi-kilogram distributor of cocaine.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative. OCDETF focuses on identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and transnational criminal organizations by employing a collaborative approach that includes federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Beaumont HIDTA Task Force, Beaumont Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety-CID, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan Lee and Rachel Grove prosecuted the case.
