Durant resident pleads guilty to federal firearm possession charge

The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has reported that Henry Tyler Allen, a 34-year-old resident of Durant, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. Allen admitted to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the indictment, on September 24, 2024, Allen was found with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. This weapon had been shipped and transported across state lines. At the time, Allen had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for over one year.

The case was investigated by both the Durant Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson accepted Allen's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The judge also ordered a presentence investigation report and remanded Allen to the custody of the United States Marshal Service until sentencing.
