NVIDIA has introduced the NVIDIA AI Blueprint for retail shopping assistants, a generative AI reference workflow aimed at enhancing shopping experiences both online and in physical stores. The blueprint is developed on the NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA Omniverse platforms, allowing developers to create digital assistants that complement human workers. These AI-powered assistants are designed to provide expertise akin to a company's top sales associate or stylist, improving customer satisfaction and workforce efficiency.
The use of NVIDIA NeMo microservices within the blueprint enables these advanced AI shopping assistants to comprehend text- and image-based prompts, search for multiple items simultaneously, undertake complex tasks like assembling a travel wardrobe, and answer specific questions such as whether a product is waterproof. Additionally, the Omniverse platform can be utilized alongside spatial-scanning solutions to display products in accurate virtual environments.
AI agents with such capabilities aim to enhance customer experiences by providing personalized suggestions of complementary products or upgrades. "AI agents can elevate shopping experiences," said Azita Martin, vice president of AI for retail at NVIDIA. "Shoppers everywhere want intelligent product recommendations...AI agents built using the NVIDIA AI Blueprint for retail shopping assistants can deliver this kind of exceptional service."
SoftServe announced its SoftServe Gen AI Shopping Assistant, developed using NVIDIA’s blueprint in early access. This assistant facilitates browsing through product catalogs and accessing detailed product information quickly. A notable feature is its virtual try-on capability that allows customers to visualize how products look on them before purchasing.
"Retailers face challenges like purchase hesitation...The NVIDIA AI Blueprint enabled us to build a turnkey solution quickly," stated Ivan Leshko from SoftServe.
NVIDIA's retail shopping assistant blueprint incorporates features such as multimodal query capabilities and integration with large language models (LLMs) for natural interactions. It also includes safety features via NeMo Guardrails and visualization tools through Omniverse.
The announcement adds another entry to NVIDIA's expanding collection of AI Blueprints unveiled earlier this week at CES. The company’s global network of partners is utilizing these technologies to develop solutions for the growing $30 trillion retail industry.
Adam Dumey from World Wide Technology remarked on leveraging the new blueprint: "Retail leaders harnessing AI-powered personalization are creating unprecedented competitive advantages."
The blueprint is currently available in early access with plans for broader availability soon. Interested developers can sign up for notifications regarding general availability.
NVIDIA will showcase their innovations at NRF: Retail’s Big Show from January 12-14, where attendees can engage with live demos and meet experts at Dell Technologies' and Supermicro's booths.
