The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has published findings from its recent survey of supply chain businesses in the aerospace and defense sector. The survey, which focused on workforce challenges, government regulations, and technological implementations, identified compliance costs as a significant issue for companies.
Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO, commented on the survey results: "Our latest Supply Chain Health Check underscores some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the aerospace and defense supply chain in 2025: incorporating new technologies, dealing with burdensome compliance costs and unnecessary overclassification, and accessing the critical minerals and workforce needed to maintain global leadership." He added that AIA is eager to collaborate with members, the federal government, and other stakeholders to enhance supply chain resiliency, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.
AIA has been actively engaging with the federal government to advocate for practical regulation that supports a robust defense industrial base.
