An Auburn resident has been sentenced in U.S. District Court in Portland for distributing cocaine base. Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. handed down a 35-month prison sentence to Devonne Scott, aged 31, which will be followed by three years of supervised release. Scott entered a guilty plea on September 19, 2024.
Court documents reveal that in July 2023, a confidential informant alerted the FBI about an individual who agreed to sell crack cocaine to them. The following month, the informant executed two controlled purchases of suspected cocaine base from Scott under surveillance and video recording by the FBI and associated law enforcement agencies. Laboratory analysis confirmed that the substances acquired contained cocaine base.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Lewiston Police Department.
