Victor Wayne Andrew Artussee, a 31-year-old resident of Okemah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to two felony assault charges. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Artussee admitted guilt to one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Do Bodily Harm in Indian Country and another count of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Harm in Indian Country.
The indictment stated that on May 11, 2024, Artussee assaulted an individual using a dangerous weapon with the intention to cause bodily harm. The incidents took place in Okfuskee County, which is part of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
These charges were brought forward following an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police.
U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma accepted Artussee's plea. He ordered a presentence investigation report and remanded Artussee into custody under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
