Arlo Christopher Jordan, a 26-year-old resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for illegal possession of ammunition. The announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The case stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office. Jordan pleaded guilty on July 16, 2024, to one count of Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Investigators reported that on January 11, 2024, officers found Jordan in possession of 270 Winchester ammunition. Despite being aware of his previous conviction for a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, Jordan still possessed the ammunition.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement and communities. Launched on May 26, 2021, the department's strategy under PSN focuses on fostering trust and legitimacy in communities, supporting community-based violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
The sentencing hearing was presided over by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Jordan will remain in custody under the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transported to a designated facility within the United States Bureau of Prisons to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Robinson represented the United States in this case.
