Yesterday, Donaven Lee Notaro, a 24-year-old resident of Stratford, pleaded guilty to charges of child abuse in federal court. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

Notaro faced charges filed on December 27, 2024, through Superseding Information for incidents occurring between January 1 and April 16, 2024. During this period, he was accused of willfully injuring or harming the health, safety, or welfare of three children under his care.

In court proceedings yesterday, Notaro admitted to the allegations outlined in the Superseding Information and acknowledged causing harm to the victims' health and safety. Following his plea, he was placed into custody by the United States Marshals.

The case falls under federal jurisdiction because Notaro is a member of the Creek Nation and the offenses occurred within Chickasaw Nation territory.

At sentencing, Notaro could face a life sentence in federal prison along with a fine up to $5,000.

The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the FBI Oklahoma City Field Office in collaboration with the Stratford Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon is handling prosecution duties for this case.

Further details can be found in public records related to this case.
