A Box Elder resident has admitted to charges of sexually abusing a child on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, according to U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich.
Brian Lee Bigbow, aged 47, entered a guilty plea for abusive sexual contact. The charges carry a potential sentence of life imprisonment, alongside a fine up to $250,000 and supervised release ranging from five years to life.
The case is overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris. Sentencing considerations will include the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors, with the sentencing hearing scheduled for May 20. Bigbow remains in custody pending further proceedings.
Court documents revealed that in April 2021, the victim, referred to as Jane Doe 1, reported the abuse to state authorities. During subsequent interviews, she disclosed that the incidents occurred in Bigbow’s bedroom and recounted multiple instances of abuse while she was under 12 years old.
The prosecution is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, with investigative efforts conducted by the FBI and Rocky Boy’s Criminal Investigators.
