Robey Lee Butler, a resident of Stilwell, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to possessing a stolen firearm. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the plea.
The indictment stated that on November 7, 2023, Butler knowingly had a stolen semi-automatic rifle and was aware that it was stolen. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office.
The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered, and Butler will stay in the custody of the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jarrod Leaman, Lewis Matthew Reagan, and T. Cameron McEwen.
