A federal inmate in New Jersey has been sentenced to an additional ten years in prison for possessing child pornography while already serving a sentence for the same crime. Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna announced that Daniel Baldwin, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Karen M. Williams.
Baldwin had previously pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler. His initial conviction in 2018 resulted in a ten-year sentence.
In June 2022, corrections officers at a federal correctional institution found an SD card hidden in Baldwin's clothing during his incarceration. The card contained hundreds of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, including explicit conduct involving prepubescent minors.
Judge Williams also imposed seven years of supervised release following Baldwin's prison term.
The investigation leading to the sentencing was conducted by special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by Special Agent in Charge Brian J. Driscoll, with assistance from FCI Fort Dix staff.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel A. Friedman represented the government in this case from the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Camden.
