Jurors in St. Louis have found Moreion Lindsey guilty of the murder-for-hire of Titus Armstead, a New Jersey resident, in 2022. The verdict was reached after evidence and testimony revealed Lindsey's involvement in the crime orchestrated by Jerome Williams and Ray Bradley.
The trial detailed that Lindsey, aged 35, shot Armstead on April 21, 2022, at Penrose Park in St. Louis. Lindsey had been hired by Williams following instructions from Bradley, who trafficked drugs to St. Louis and other locations. Armstead was accused by Bradley of stealing drugs and cash from his stash house.
Bradley arranged for Armstead to travel to St. Louis under the guise of protection but intended for him to be killed there. Lindsey met Armstead at the airport and drove him directly to the park where he committed the murder with a .45-caliber handgun. He used a prepaid phone to photograph the body as proof for Williams and Bradley.
Following the murder, Lindsey received $15,000 from Williams as payment. Williams also destroyed evidence related to the crime including Armstead’s belongings and a burner phone. Lindsey reported his SUV stolen after using it for the crime and later purchased a Chevrolet Suburban with part of his payment.
Lindsey is set for sentencing on April 24 and faces mandatory life imprisonment for his crimes.
Ray Bradley pleaded guilty earlier this year to similar charges and received a 25-year prison sentence in September. Jerome Williams admitted guilt last month to obstructing a federal investigation through destruction of evidence.
The investigation was carried out by multiple agencies including the FBI, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, and Atlanta Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Angie Danis, Ryan Finlen, and Nathan Chapman prosecuting.
