Orlando, Florida – A man from Orlando has been arrested and charged with the transportation of child sex abuse material. Matthew A. Inman, aged 39, faces a potential prison sentence ranging from five to twenty years if found guilty.
The complaint against Inman states that between August and October 2024, he received and stored multiple videos of child sexual abuse material on his phone. These videos reportedly depicted adults engaging in sexual acts with young children. Furthermore, in October 2024, Inman traveled to Las Vegas where he engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement officer who was posing as the father of a nine-year-old boy. During these interactions, Inman allegedly expressed a desire to meet and sexually assault the child and sent videos containing child sexual abuse material to the officer.
The FBI conducted a search of Inman's electronic devices and residence under a warrant. During this operation, Inman attempted to delete evidence from his phone and hid in his attic.
It is important to note that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The investigation into this case was carried out by the FBI, while Assistant United States Attorney Richard Varadan is handling the prosecution.
This arrest is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders who exploit children sexually and rescue victims.
