DigWatch reports that Knafo urged the European Union to adopt Bitcoin by establishing national strategic reserves and rejecting the European Central Bank's proposed digital euro. She argued that Bitcoin could safeguard financial freedom and protect citizens from centralized financial control. Citing examples such as El Salvador and the United States, she suggested that Bitcoin's ability to ensure economic stability would offer long-term protection against inflation and financial crises.
The Crypto Council for Innovation notes that France's status as a leading European crypto hub is uncertain due to political instability following July's snap elections, which resulted in a hung parliament. The left-wing New Popular Front (NPF), if it leads the government, has proposed significant tax increases on crypto assets, potentially jeopardizing France's attractiveness to the crypto industry. These proposals contrast with President Macron's pro-crypto policies that have positioned France as a regulated and innovation-friendly hub for blockchain and digital assets.
As reported by The European Conservative, Knafo is a French magistrate and co-founder of the Reconquête party. She played a key role in Éric Zemmour’s 2022 presidential campaign and is now third on the party's European Parliament list, aiming to advance its nationalist and conservative platform.
