A man from Espanola has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for drug trafficking charges. Jeremy Isaac Lopez, 29, was found with multiple controlled substances and will serve his sentence without the possibility of parole.

The arrest took place on April 19, 2023, at the Cities of Gold Casino by the Pueblo of Pojoaque Tribal Police Department. Lopez was apprehended on a bench warrant after removing his GPS ankle monitor, violating pretrial release conditions related to state charges for armed robbery. Upon completing his prison term, Lopez will undergo three years of supervised release.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office.
