Sarah Knafo, a French Member of Parliament and Vice President of the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group (ENS), announced her invitation to a cryptocurrency-themed ball during the inaugural celebrations for President Donald Trump. Knafo shared this information in a post on X dated January 18.
"Last night, I was invited to the first ball of the investiture of Trump : the one of cryptocurrencies," said Knafo.
The crypto inauguration ball was held to commemorate Trump's 2025 inauguration at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The event included attendees such as executives from companies like Crypto.com, Kraken, and Exodus. It featured a performance by Snoop Dogg and gathered industry leaders, policymakers, and influencers to discuss the future of digital assets, according to Reuters.

President Trump has expressed his commitment to transforming the United States into the "crypto capital of the planet" by implementing supportive policies and establishing a national Bitcoin reserve. He said, "Instead of attacking industries of the future, we will embrace them, including making America the world capital of crypto and Bitcoin." Stefan Berger, a Member of the European Parliament, emphasized that Europe should remain competitive in stablecoins and innovation. "One thing is clear: Europe must not be left behind and should be an attractive hub for innovation," he said in a post on X. Berger also advocated for appointing a dedicated cryptocurrency representative within the European Union, stating, "The EU needs a crypto representative." His comments followed Trump's appointment of Sacks as the White House Artificial Intelligence and Crypto Czar, according to Crypto Republique.
Knafo serves as an MP for Reconquête and holds positions within various committees in the European Parliament. She is involved with the ITRE Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy and participates in delegations focused on relations with Maghreb countries and the Union for the Mediterranean.
