The Heritage Foundation has announced the appointment of Ryan Neuhaus as its new chief of staff. Neuhaus, who brings extensive experience in policy development and legislative affairs, previously served as legislative director for U.S. Senator Mike Lee. His role on Capitol Hill involved leading strategic initiatives and advising on key policy issues.

Neuhaus succeeds Wesley Coopersmith, who is leaving after more than three years to join the Trump administration as chief of staff to Kelly Loeffler at the Small Business Administration.

Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, praised Neuhaus's leadership qualities: "Ryan is exactly the kind of principled conservative leader Heritage needs at this pivotal moment in our nation’s history." He also expressed gratitude for Coopersmith's service: "Wes went above and beyond the call of duty... He will be sorely missed."

Senator Mike Lee congratulated Neuhaus on his new position: "Ryan was an invaluable asset to my office throughout his time on Capitol Hill... His dedication, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to conservative principles make him an invaluable asset to Heritage."

Neuhaus expressed enthusiasm about his return to The Heritage Foundation: "I could not be happier to be coming back... My admiration and respect for Heritage’s mission only grew when Kevin Roberts was appointed."

Coopersmith reflected on his time at The Heritage Foundation and his future role: "It has been an honor to serve Dr. Roberts and The Heritage Foundation... I am excited to continue fighting for the people and values that make America exceptional."
