Two Massachusetts men have been found guilty in a drug trafficking conspiracy case in Bangor, Maine. The U.S. District Court convicted Daquan Corbett, 30, and Daviston Jackson, 28, for their involvement in distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl. The verdict followed a 10-day bench trial before U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann.

Court records reveal that between January 2018 and December 2021, Corbett, Jackson, and others trafficked drugs in Penobscot and Aroostook counties. Both men face potential sentences of 10 years to life imprisonment and fines up to $10 million, along with supervised release for five years to life.

This case is part of a broader northern Maine drug trafficking conspiracy involving 21 defendants. Ten individuals have already been sentenced while eleven await sentencing.

Sentenced individuals include Andrew Adams (32) from Aroostook County who received a ten-year sentence; Wayne Smith (33) from Bangor with an 85-month sentence; Danielle McBreairty (34) from Glenburn sentenced to twenty years; Blaine Footman (38) from Bangor receiving five years; Nicole Footman (41) from Holden sentenced to three years; Dwight Gary Jr. (54) from Medway with time served; Matthew Catalano (38) from Penobscot County given 165 months; Thomas Hammond (26) from Charleston with an 84-month sentence; Christopher Coty (44) from Bangor receiving four years; and James King (55) from Caribou sentenced to 165 months.

Awaiting sentencing are Daquan Corbett and Daviston Jackson among others scheduled for February hearings.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, along with local police departments. U.S. Attorney Darcie McElwee acknowledged support from the Maine State Attorney General’s Office and the Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office.

This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces initiative aimed at dismantling high-level criminal networks through collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies.
