Huntington man pleads guilty to federal firearm offense

William S. Thompson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia

Tairon Jordan Bradley, a 25-year-old resident of Huntington, West Virginia, has entered a guilty plea to the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The plea was made today in connection with an incident that occurred on November 7, 2023.

Court documents and statements reveal that Bradley was stopped by law enforcement while driving in Kenova. During the stop, he fled the scene in his vehicle. The pursuit led onto Interstate 64, where Bradley collided with another vehicle upon entering Cabell County. His vehicle eventually halted on I-64, after which Bradley attempted to escape on foot into a wooded area but was apprehended. A loaded Weihrauch Hermann Model EA/R .38 Special/.357 magnum revolver was discovered in his vehicle.

Federal law prohibits individuals with prior felony convictions from possessing firearms or ammunition. Bradley had previous felony convictions for first-degree robbery and conspiracy from January 17, 2019, in Cabell County Circuit Court.

Bradley's sentencing is scheduled for May 12, 2025. He faces up to 15 years imprisonment, three years of supervised release, and a potential fine of $250,000.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Will Thompson who acknowledged the investigative efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), along with the Kenova Police Department and Huntington Police Department.

United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers oversaw the hearing with Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Taylor prosecuting the case.
